Our Services

Planning & Design

The planning aspects of transportation engineering relate to elements of urban planning, and involve technical forecasting decisions and political factors.

Before any planning occurs, our engineers take into consideration the existing systems – what is known as an inventory of the area. This inventory study usually involves the collection of data on population, land use, social and economic activities, existing transportation facilities and services, traffic patterns and volumes, laws and regulations, financial and economic resources and community values and expectations.

Through this inventory study, our transportation planners review the incumbent systems and model travel behaviour in order to forecast trips, assess the need for new infrastructure, propose investment programmes and also recommend policies and procedures to mitigate risks and concerns. At Lipaña, we believe that carefully collected information and appropriate modelling can help us create accurate forecasts for the infrastructure and systems.

Once a new system has been planned, our transportation designers are key in guiding thef manufacturing to their point of consumption efficiently and cost effectively. High-quality and modernised transportation systems are essential for economic and social development, and inadequate transport infrastructure can mean the difference between sustainable progress and persistent underdevelopment.

Construction & Maintenance

Our construction and maintenance engineers combine knowledge from other areas of civil engineering in order to implement and adhere to the transportation infrastructure that has been planned and designed.

They typically use their extensive experience to focus on cost estimation, the identification of components and the schedule of activities required to construct a specific infrastructure.

Lipaña engineers also employ asset management, including the development of repaving plans based on pre-defined performance metrics such as traffic intensity, environmental conditions and infrastructure deterioration.

Operations & Management

Transportation operations and management involves the development of traffic engineering solutions.

Traffic engineering is a sub-category of transportation engineering that focuses on the operation and management of transportation systems to ensure the smooth movement of people and goods on transportation facilities.

Our traffic engineers are highly trained and experienced in making technical alterations to transportation systems that contribute to capacity enhancement, congestion reduction and safety improvements. They have proficient knowledge of data analysis, and use modelling to predict future traffic growth, and simulations and problem solving to assess accident reports and traffic flow reports. Lipaña transportation operation and management experience includes the development of traditional techniques such as signs, signals and marking, as well as other newer and more complex solutions that involve intelligent technologies to facilitate the movement of traffic in a transportation system.
